With over 20 years of experience as an AM Law 100 transactional attorney in Southern California, Jake brings a wealth of expertise in commercial contract negotiation and privacy law. Jake considers it an honor to work with clients in managing their commercial contracting needs as well as their privacy and other legal compliance responsibilities in an effective and practical manner.

Practice Areas

Jake's practice focuses on business transactions in the technology, software, media, advertising, marketing, and promotion industries. He helps clients in drafting and negotiating advertising, marketing and promotional services agreements, website hosting and development agreements, and licensing agreements. Jake also assists clients with the preparation of website/mobile application terms, conditions, and privacy policies. He counsels clients in various advertising, promotion, sweepstakes, and other trade and commercial matters, including drafting official rules for sweepstakes, contests, and other promotions.

Over the course of Jake's career, he has also advised clients on a vast array of HIPAA and other privacy law compliance matters. Unfortunately, privacy breach incidents are not uncommon in today's business world. Clients look to Jake for practical advice in navigating related notification and mitigation obligations and other legal compliance matters, and handling privacy complaints and related investigations. Recognizing that pragmatic solutions are often just as critical as legal compliance—especially when it comes to avoiding privacy breach incidents and client management of mobile and other electronic communications with their customers and members—Jake also helps create privacy training materials and privacy policies and procedures that are specifically tailored to the real-world challenges faced by his clients. He also assists clients with the negotiation of business associate and privacy related vendor agreements.
